Design Problem
Technology enabled social networks have become a very important part of our lives. Recently, there have been many applications that have come up, which help individuals to network in interesting ways. For example: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Ning and others.
The Indian market presents some very unique opportunities for social networking.
Your problem is to design an innovative and interesting social networking application for Indian consumers. Your proposed scenario can incorporate either one or several social contexts such as:
- Public spaces
- Offices
- Homes
- On the move
Design Considerations
- The application(s) should be relevant to the Indian cultural context
- The application(s) can be based on web (accessible from a PC/laptop) or mobile (iPhone, Nokia or other) or hybrid technology platforms
- The application(s) should be easy to access, usable, productive and entertaining
Solution Format
You can represent your ideas and solutions as scenarios, annotate with pictures, paper sketches or whatever method you deem fit to communicate the idea effectively. Please outline your application's usage scenario from the standpoint of an end user and write a brief note about the proposed business model.
Judging
Voting and ratings on the design solutions will be enabled through peer and expert feedback on the originality, creativity, relevance and usability, and the experience it provides to the end user.
Special entries will be showcased at DCamp on the event day.
Prizes
Win gift vouchers and mementoes worth Rs. 10000 (sponsored by Aditi Technologies)
Also, the top 3 entries will be given an opportunity to present their designs at DCamp.

Email your concept entries to DcampIndia@gmail.com. If possible send your solution as a high resolution image (JPG/GIF) file. Also include a 100 word writeup about your concept.
The last date for receiving competition entries is July 24, 2008.
